7 days working about 4 hours a day ABSOLUTELY NO DIGITAL GRAPHICS WENT INTO THE MAKING OF THIS FANART
(in your face, Photoshop! I did all those f*cking stars individually by hand
Like most people my age, who, on a whim, purchased "The Last Unicorn" on DVD at Wal-Mart and watched it, I felt a sudden urge to do a fanart of my absolute favorite childhood movie.
This pic was inspired by the song Mans Road, which is played a couple of times throughout the movie. I tried very hard to make the unicorn look at least somewhat similar to the one in the movie (she's so beautiful), as well as the BG.
Yes, I did an actual background
My mom and I were discussing it last week, and we decided that my work REALLY needs backgrounds, so I had to give it a try. But, I had no idea The Last Unicorn would inspire it
It started out as just a sketch of a common country scene
then I thought itd be cool if the unicorn could be running by. Then I colored a little bit
then a little bit more
now, 7 days later, my hard, intricate, back-breaking work is complete.
I am extremely proud of this piece.
Enjoy...and if you've never seen this movie...WATCH IT! It truley is an amzing movie with such enchanting characters. I'm sure the novel is great too....I never read it, but I hear it's really good
I need to rest now...my fingers are killing me
I'm so happy this is done.
Oh...if I colored outside the lines, it's because I had the hiccups at the time
BTW, the original piece can be purchased (it ain't gonna be $10.00, though, I'll tell ya that much!) Note me if you're interested.
